Porque Sete Cumes Se São Seis Continentes?

  O Circuito conhecido como Sete Cumes é composto pelas maiores montanhas em seus respectivos continentes.

  O curioso é que nos são apresentados 6 continentes, América, África, Ásia, Europa e Oceania e Antártida.

  No entanto sete são os cumes que compõem este circuito, porque?

  A Antártida faz parte da lista e a América, estranhamente, que se observe, é dividida em América do Sul e América do Norte. No entanto isso não diminui em nada o valor do circuito, pelo contrario, contribui ainda mais para que nós montanhistas possamos escalar.

  Além desta, diverge também os montes que constituiriam o circuito na Oceania, a 30 de abril de 1985, o norte-americano Dick Bass, se tornaria o primeiro montanhista, sendo que o monte escalado por ele fora o Kosciuszko - 2.228 metros acima do nível do mar, ponto culminante da Austrália, descartando assim a Pirâmide Carstensz - 4.884 metros acima do nível do mar, portanto ponto culminante de toda a Oceania.

  O primeiro a obter tal feito foi o canadense Pat Morrow, percorrendo todos os pontos culminantes dos continentes, a 4 de agosto de 1986. Em 3 de dezembro do mesmo ano o lendário Reinhold Messner igualou a façanha de Morrow.

Why Are Seven Summits If Six Continents?

The curious thing is that we are given six continents, America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and Antarctica.

The circuit known as the Seven Summits is composed of the highest mountains in their respective continents.

  Antarctica is one the list and America, oddly, is observed, is divided into South America and North America. However this does not diminish the value of the value of the circuit, by contrast, contributes even more to us mountaineers can climb

  Besides this, also differs hills forming the circuit in Oceania, April 30, 1985, the American Dick Bass became the first climber, and he climbed the hill outside the Kosciuszko - 2.228 meters above the level sea, the highest point in Australia, thus discarding the Carstensz Pyramid - 4.884 meters above sea level, therefore the culmination of the whole Oceania.
